Just like cars need tires, and houses need to be painted, your jewelry needs routine maintenance too. The prongs that hold your favorite diamond or gemstone probably take the most wear and tear. They need to be built up, or retipped, from time to time to keep them secure.
We recommend that all of your jewelry should be checked at least twice a year. Don’t wait until you feel a sharp or snagging prong. It is much less expensive to retip those prongs than it is to replace the stone that falls out and is lost, when a prong breaks.
